Privacy
Your enquiry stays a conversation.
Here’s how Alongside People handles the information you share.
When you get in touch
The contact form asks for your name, email and what you would like help with. Organisation, website and how you heard about us are optional. We use these details to understand your enquiry, respond and keep track of any work we discuss.
Please leave out passwords, sensitive personal information and confidential client material. A few sentences about the problem are enough to begin.
Keeping track of our conversation
Enquiries are held in our private contact management system. It records follow-up notes and, where relevant, the progress of potential work. Access is restricted to authorised operators. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
We retain conversation records while they are needed for follow-up, ongoing work or relevant contractual and record-keeping obligations. We can review them for correction, removal or anonymisation. We do not promise a fixed deletion date for every business record.
Optional website measurement
You can allow or decline measurement and still use the website or send an enquiry. Change your choice at any time using Analytics preferences in the footer.
When you allow it, our own system records recognised page paths, simple interactions and a random identifier for the current browser tab. It stores a hash of that identifier, rather than your name or email. Recognised sources and campaign references can also be saved with an enquiry to help us understand how people find us.
Form messages, names, email addresses and private contact notes are excluded from measurement. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or browser fingerprinting. Unknown source information stays unknown.
Detailed visit events stop appearing in reports after 30 days. Retention cleanup removes expired events. Your browser’s preference lasts up to 180 days. Withdrawing permission stops collection, clears local tracking information and asks our system to erase the current tab’s visit records. Earlier tabs or sessions may no longer be identifiable from your browser.
Newsletter requests
Newsletter permission is separate from an enquiry or website measurement. We record your email, the permission you gave and your subscription status. Confirmation is required before an address is treated as subscribed; you can later withdraw that permission.
Email delivery is currently disabled. A request is recorded as pending; it does not activate a subscription or send confirmation or campaign emails. Retention cleanup removes unconfirmed requests older than 30 days.
Hosting and security
Cloudflare provides the hosting infrastructure for the public website and our separately controlled private contact system. Hosting services process connection and security information needed to deliver the site and limit abuse. These operational records are separate from the optional measurement described above.
The contact system uses access controls, input checks and limits on repeated requests. Personal information can also exist in restricted recovery copies. Removing a live record does not immediately remove earlier recovery copies; those need to expire under the applicable recovery arrangements. Hosting and security logs follow separate arrangements from website measurement preferences.
Questions or requests
Use the contact form to ask about your information, request a correction, or ask for removal or withdrawal of permission. Tell us what you would like changed, without sending unnecessary sensitive details. We’ll consider your request and any relevant obligations.
